Spitfire Mk.Ia - Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien

After realizing that all Spitfires looked quite the same those days, I wanted to try a more colorful approach. So I found this Kawasaki Ki 61 Hien livery and got it for the Spitfire Mk.Ia. The livery is quite historical, the aircraft served at Tokyo area with the 224th Sentai during the winter 1944-45 but of course it wasn´t a Spitfire!. Made using PS CS3 and the paintkit of Martin Catney. For use with the payware A2A Simulations Spitfire Mk.Ia.

The livery was made for my personal use but I thought that maybe some others what to give this colorful paint a try. I am aware of the aesthetical aspects of painting the pride of the British Empire in Japanese colors but I suppose, if you read this, you don´t care either!! :-)
